The homeowner told me this wall was built about seven years ago. Obviously little care was taken to build it correctly.

After a couple days of rain I returned to the job site to find the soil the old wall was retaining had fallen. If you look closely at the foundation stones on the left side of the wall you can see the soil and vegetation that used to be on the top of the bank.

In the foreground you can see the hand truck which I use to move many of the larger stones around. It's a handy tool to have on the job site when working alone as I do.

I noticed I didn't have any pictures of this finished wall. I went back the other day and took a couple photos. The left side of the completed wall. This wall will now retain the soil and has been built to last.
