March 21-22 (Saturday-Sunday)

Two-day!

Jessamine County, Kentucky

Two-day introductory workshop March 21-22, 2026 (Saturday-Sunday) in Jessamine County, KY. Participants will help restore a freestanding edge fence.

Most often found in floodplains, steeps slopes, and on solid bedrock, edge fences are known for their defining characteristic, the stones laid at an angle. This angle helps stones hold their ground more sturdily. This is especially useful in those floodplains, steep slopes, and solid bedrock. Participants will be tearing a troubled section of edge fence down and rebuilding it. The techniques are much the same as a flat laid rock fence, just at an angle.

This Workshop is designed for drystone enthusiasts with little experience who would like to gain a basic understanding of dry stone edge fencing techniques. The pace will be comfortable and participants will learn the fundamental skills needed to build and repair a typical edge fence. A previous workshop is a preferred requirement.

Payments are refundable (less a $25 cancellation fee) only if we hear from you at least two weeks prior to the first day of your workshop. Deposits and payments are otherwise nonrefundable.
