Previous enrollment in an Introductory Workshop is a Pre-Requisite for this workshop.

This workshop is designed to provide guidance on two critical pieces of the anatomy of a dry stone wall; wallheads and coping. Geared to those who have previously taken an Intro Workshop and wish to fine tune their skill and pick up another feather in their cap. This workshop will be a crucial component of any masons wishing to pursue certification. Participants will receive instruction on how to properly build a wallhead (cheek-end) by tearing down and rebuilding an existing historic one. Then, participants will learn about the various types of coping used and how to properly build a cover and coping course.

Below is an example of the workshop agenda:

DAY ONE:

8:30a - Classroom session and presentation covering the basics, fundamentals, safety, and what you can expect for the rest of the workshop. Coffee and donuts provided.

9:30a - Review of basics, on-site. Tear down section of wallhead, site preparation, and setting up frames

12p - Lunch, provided

1p - Rebuilding the wallhead

4p - Review / Q and A

DAY TWO:

8:30a - Review of previous day, finish wallhead rebuild if need be

11a - Discussion on the different types of coping, removal of a section of coping course

12p - Lunch, provided

1p - Reconstruct cover course

4p - Review / Q and A / Course Evaluations

Payments are refundable (less a $25 cancellation fee) only if we hear from you at least two weeks prior to the first day of your workshop.  Deposits and payments are otherwise nonrefundable.
