We’ve been hard at work this winter planning for the rest of the year. While we’re just announcing our Spring offerings now, we’re planning BIG things for 2024. Workshops, certifications, partnership building, training projects, consultations, our marathon, and even a stakeholders meeting! Hop on board because this year we’re going to rock and roll.

Our workshops are where the rubber hit the road and this Spring we’ll be offering the typical mix of introductory rock fence and introductory retaining wall workshops for those who are just now discovering the craft or are wanting to expand a bit of their knowledge. In June we’ll be hosting a wallhead and coping workshop exclusively for those who have previously taken an introductory workshop and wish to learn more about two of the most important parts of a dry stone wall or rock fence.

Below you’ll find the slate of workshops. They’re all $400 for the two days. More information on each workshop and the itinerary for each day can be found by clicking the link to each workshop. Any other questions can be sent to dscadmin@drystone.org. We hope to see y’all out there!

Advanced Wallhead and Coping Workshop at Lower Howard’s Creek Nature and Heritage Preserve in Clark County, KY.—June 8 and 9. ($400) Saturday and Sunday. Covering two very important aspects of a dry stone wall, this workshop will put a new feather in a burgeoning mason’s cap. We’ll tear down and rebuild some wallheads, then we’ll cover the various types of coping. This workshop will be led by DSC/DSWA Master Craftsman, Neil Rippingale.

We have had much interest in other advanced workshops so stay tuned, we’re always trying to work something up. If you’re interested in professional certification, please reach out. We are currently planning certification exams for the Fall but conducting a test day in the Spring/Summer is still possible.
